Introducing the New JEF 2.0
The Jericho Educational Foundation is an independent non-profit organization whose goal is to support and enrich the school and community by identifying, facilitating, and funding projects that will enhance the standard of educational excellence in the Jericho School District. At this time, the JEF already has 2 exciting projects underway for the 2013-2014 school year:
1. The Initiative Project-In June, we announced our fourth annual Initiative Project. All faculty and staff across the school district have been invited to submit grant proposals for consideration by the JEF Board of Directors. Up to five proposals will be awarded grants for up to $2500 each. The emphasis of this program is to fund projects or ideas that inspire, enhance or enrich the standard of educational excellence for students within the Jericho School district. We are looking for ideas with creative and innovative programming across all schools, grades, departments and subjects. The deadline for submission is September 13th and winners will be announced October 4th.
2. Paving The Way For Educational Excellence This is an amazing opportunity for all Jericho students, parents, alumni, and community members to make a lasting contribution to the Jericho Schools. The JEF has been granted approval to re-brick the circular entrance in front of the High School/Middle School. We will be selling engraved bricks beginning September 3rd through November 22nd with an estimated installation date of mid-May. The net proceeds from all brick sales will directly benefit the entire educational community from the elementary schools through the high school by providing the resources to create a completely wireless academic community.

JEF Announces Charter Membership Drive
Through past fund-raising efforts and generous donations, the foundation has been able to undertake projects that otherwise could not have been addressed in our school’s budget.
- Restoration of The Little Theater at Jericho High School
- Donation of Athletic Field Scoreboards
- Digital Sign Project for all five school buildings
- Establishment of Annual JEF Student Film Festival
- Creation of the JEF Initiative Project
We are asking for your financial support as the JEF embarks on its Charter Membership Drive. With education budgets under pressure in Albany, your charitable contributions help us continue the mission of supporting our Jericho schools. Among JEF ideas being considered are:
- Health and Fitness Facility
- Solar Panel Project
- Parent Lecture Series
JEF Announces 2010 School Year Annual Inititiave Project Winners
Expanding on the huge success of last year’s Jackson School Garden Project, the JEF offered to fund up to five separate faculty developed Initiative Project proposals for the 2010/11 school year. Each of these projects are devised and envisioned to seed an idea that will benefit the students of the Jericho School District. Last year we received one proposal. This year over TWENTY teachers submitted THIRTEEN ideas. It is their passion, inspiration and vision that will allow the foundation to continue to enrich and enhance the educational excellence of our students.
We are happy to announce this year’s JEF Initiative Projects winners
