JEF Announces 2010 School Year Annual Inititiave Project Winners

October 26, 2010 · Filed Under Uncategorized

Expanding on the huge success of last year’s Jackson School Garden Project,  the JEF offered to fund up to five separate faculty developed Initiative Project proposals for the 2010/11 school year.   Each of these projects are devised and envisioned to seed an idea that will benefit the students of the Jericho School District.   Last year we received one proposal.  This year over TWENTY teachers submitted THIRTEEN ideas.  It is their passion, inspiration and vision that will allow the foundation to continue to enrich and enhance the educational excellence of our students.

We are happy to announce this year’s JEF Initiative Projects winners

1.     Reading Buddies – Rosanna Aloe and Jennifer Benderly- Cantiague

2.     Bocce court at Middle School/High School – Rosanna Gangidino

3.     Life Skills Program – Joseph Sapienza- High School

4.     Graphic Novels – Maureen Judge- Middle School

5.     Jackson School Garden Enhancement – Laurie Oddo, Lori Salzman, Lois Wittmann

Financial support from the community allows us to continue these rewarding projects.
